The EQUALITY Study published several articles detailing results from Phase 1 of the study in journals such as JAMA Internal Medicine, Academic Emergency Medicine, and LGBT Health. The research team and stakeholder advisory board members have been interviewed in several news outlets, including The New York Times, Huffington Post, and Reuters.
The EQUALITY Study Team will be presenting a research panel at this year's AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting in Boston, MA. Phase III of the EQUALITY Study, a trial to evaluate two methods of SO/GI collection, was launched in February 2016. The comparative effectiveness trial is currently underway at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.
The EQUALITY welcomes Dr. Rachel Adler, ScD RD, as a the newest member of the team! She will act as a senior project manager at the Center for Surgery and Public Health and project director for the EQUALITY Study. Dr. Adler is passionate about improving the lives of individuals and communities, and will use her training in social, environmental, and policy determinants of health and strong background in mixed methods and community-based research to manage the EQUALITY Study.
